This is Admiral Toys best effort to date! The ME-262 is truly a spetacular model plane and equals or exceeds anything currently offered by the competition. I have had the opportunity to examine several actual ME-262s up close (at the Planes of Fame Museum, Smithsonian Air & Space museum, Deutches Museum in Munich and the RAF Museum in London) and can say that AT's model replicates the ME-262 faithfully.
The sculpting is very accurate, including the correct steep wing dihedral and the thin nose gear. The markings are crisp and clear and generally free of any blemishes. The cockpit detail is wonderful with individually detailed instruments. The wire antenna is a very nice touch. The landing gear fold up flush with the underside and even the tires are detailed with the treads. The opening gunbay is a great feature, and even includes supports to hold open the covers. The moving control surfaces include the two sets of flaps and leading-edge flaps (spoilers) on each wing plus a moving rudder and elevators. The aircraft also assembles quite easily and the packaging has eliminated those pesky twist-ties. The only things to watch out for concerns the nose wheel, which fits into its bay very tightly and can be tricky to pull out.
At has also included a figure that is much improved over the previous F-86 pilots, but which could still use a little work.
The AT ME-262 is a wonderful model and well worth the price!
